Final Project

In my school (middle/high school) we have 3 computer labs, each lab has about 20 computers. we also have about 10 computers in the media resource center. and a work room with 5 computers. which makes an estimate of 70 computers.
we also have a computer in each room for the teachre’s use. all of the macheines are desktops. and I don’t know if whether they’re on replacement cycle or not.
the school doesn’t offer support laptops for neither teachers nor students.
some of the computers run windows vista while others run windows 7.
I can say that the network coverage is “ok” most of the time.

Today I was introduced to augmented reality for the first time; it felt like living in a fiction movie. Although getting to know one application after the other seemed very interesting and inspiring. But it is also a little bit intimidating. It made me realize how fast the technology is going and I’m not sure if I can keep its pace or not. I also couldn’t stop thinking of my students, although they’re not yet familiar with such advanced technology, but still the need to customize their classroom. Wait till they get to know such technology and get used to it. I’m sure it will make them more and more demanding. And this will make teaching a much more challenging job. However I can’t deny that I was fascinated by everything I’ve learned today.
I fell in love with the “live scribe”. Sometimes I’m asked to take minutes during a meeting which is something that I’m not really good at. I think such a tool will be very helpful. I even looked on YouTube to see it again in action and I found very interesting applications like changing the paper into a piano and translating the text as it is being written.

This is a visual proof of the pythagorean theorme, it will help you see the theorem in action
